My passion for editing began at the early age of 13 when I discovered Youtube. At the time, make-your-own music videos were trending and it was through this that I was able to develop my talents for basic video making and editing. Fast forward to college and I was able to begin developing professional skills; familiarizing myself with all types of equipment and really learning the true art of movie making. I graduated from UNO, where I was also a student athlete, in 2019 with a degree in Film. It was during those college years the door to cinematic production was opened to me, and I knew this was a career I wanted for the rest of my life.
When the devastation that was Covid hit America, the shutdown meant working on movie and television sets was no longer an option. To replace my lost income, I created Courtois Productions. I began filming more intimate events such as baby showers, vow renewals, and videos for graduating seniors. My goal was to not only capture big moments, but to create longterm access to memories that could otherwise fade overtime.
Since starting this business, I've expanded to creating commercials for business owners (often used for social media marketing), cooking demonstrations done by professional chefs, and I've even filmed large events such as the Delcambre Seafood and Farmer's Markets and the World Championship Gumbo Cookoff.
While I love giving clients the option to hit REPLAY on core memories, my heart will always be with the movies. Since beginning my professional career, I've worked on multiple film productions in countless positions; from PA, to Grip, to 2nd AC...but my favorite position is anything revolving around camera work (I've recently started work as a 1st AC!). Slowly, I've begun to take my career back to where my heart lies, all in hopes to one day be the one running the show.
